About Great Plains Christian Radio PDF Print E-mail

KJIL 105.7FM is Dedicated to Regional Ministry

In 1985 a group of farmers and business people from throughout Southwest Kansas met together seeking God's leading regarding the development of a Christian radio ministry to that region. They decided to form Great Plains Christian Radio as a non-profit organization. Since that time the organization has grown to four full-power stations and a network of over twenty low-power repeater stations. Flagship station KJIL, Meade, KS went on the air in 1992, KHYM, Meade, KS went on the air in 1997 and in 1999 KJOV, Woodward, OK was purchased from Living Word Fellowship. The ministry has won national awards from Focus on the Family and the Gospel Music Association.

During the course of 2001 Great Plains Christian Radio purchased 105.7FM from Tri-County Broadcasting with the aim of developing a locally run, regionally focused station in Central and North-Central Kansas. This goes against the trend in Christian radio today as many organizations simply repeat satellite programming. The Great Plains Christian Radio programming philosophy is that a local station active in the region can minister more effectively. Since going on the air August 16th, 2001 KJIL 105.7 has sponsored many Christian concerts and events throughout the region and does regular contests. We want to build stronger individuals, families, churches, and communities and to do so we are dedicated to be involved in those communities.

Having a regionally based ministry requires support from the area. We hope you are seeing the advantage of our approach to ministry and will consider supporting it financially. We are member of the National Religious Broadcasters and Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability and gifts are tax deductible.

KJIL 105.7 programs contemporary Christian music featuring artists like Point of Grace, Nicole C. Mullen , DC Talk, Michael W. Smith, Avalon, 4-Him, Steven Curtis Chapman and many others. We also provide a line up of choice programs such as Focus On the Family, Living on the Edge, A New Beginning, and many more! Click here for a KJIL 105.7FM Program Schedule.
